Trees felled and burnt for road widening - Nannup to Margaret River

Wasteful destruction on Mowen Rd. between Margaret
River
and Nannup.

Workers reckoned they'd asked for a “tub grinder”  to make some use of wood from bulldozed/felled trees but met no positive response from goverment.

There were many piles burning, many already burnt and towards Nannup totally cleared areas.

It looks like they're starting from both ends and planning to meet in the middle. Towards either end there were some small neatly stacked piles of what looked like first grade timber (some logs were marked with a”G” on the base).  Most piles however were roughly stacked/bulldozed with trees/wood of mixed quality and were either already alight or ready to be set alight.

Passed some trees marked with an “H” (for habitat) within areas marked to be cleared.

To use a quote from a C.S Lewis book:  “Progress – I've seen the same in an egg – we call it going bad!”
